POP-UP BY.PONO

At the top of the hill in Northcote an old warehouse space offers retail street frontage with high sawtooth ceilings drenched in natural light. A minimal approach allows the building to be a blank canvas for the changing clientele of the pop-up shop front. By.PONO 2017.

WAREHOUSE BY.PONO

Leah Hudson-smith has designed and built by hand a ‘workshop for living’ in an old warehouse in Melbourne’s Inner North. What some might call an unconventional home, it certainly has its own shifting personality. Essentially designed around two self-contained ‘mini houses’ within an open plan warehouse, it is the space between places that encourages a shifting program with the seasons and a flexibily not usually afforded in the conventional housing stock of the area. Filled with light, wondering plants, her handmade furniture experiments and relics from travels, Leah thinks it’s not a bad place to live, work and create! By.PONO 2016.
